Actually played in my first Friday Night Magic constructed tournament. Went 2-3, which isn’t too bad for a deck that still needs some work and for it being the first time I have been in a tournament that wasn’t a draft.
But I did learn some things.
While I enjoy the shop I go to, it is too damn hot and cramped.
Seriously. With 22 other people in a tournament, it gets bad. And 22 isn’t even that many, it is just the shop is really REALLY small. And then include the other people that were just up there to play with friends and the handful of kids playing Yu-Gi-Oh. At some points, I thought the sweat was going to start pouring off my face.
Makes me wish the guy that owned the shop would just move into one of the newer buildings across the street. So much bigger and probably with air conditioning. Or it makes me wish I could actually open my own shop. Even though I would still be competing with Four Horsemen, I think it would do fairly well in a newer, bigger building.
But all in all, pretty good birthday!
